Pennant races and Kirby Puckett

Sept 27 - 15  |  Being currently in the thick of the 2015 baseball pennant races... it made me think of   the sad story of Minnesota Twins’ legend Kirby Puckett.  In 1996, Puckett’s baseball career ended after he lost his sight in one eye due to a blocked retinal blood vessel.  This 'eye problem' was really an early warning sign of a systemic circulation problem.  His 'eye problem' was a whole body problem as Puckett died of circulatory issues in 2006.

'Eye problems' are often representative of larger systemic condition that effect the entire body.  Optometrists know these dangerous links well.  Retinal vascular occlusions have ominously grim outcomes for patients not treated systemically for underlying disorders.

See us for urgent eye care and regular eye exams.  We are looking for so much more than just 'eye problems'    dr.j    Studioeyecare.com
