Feb 15, 2016 An incorrect eyeglass prescription or ocular pathology (e.g. cataracts) can give you poor night vision but from my experiences this week I wanted to draw attention to another (and perhaps the most!) common cause of poor night vision... your damaged lenses! Clean your lenses and examine them carefully with a bright light behind... are they smeared?, scratched? Lens coatings applied to nearly all plastic lenses become damaged with cleaning and exposure. Coatings in sub-optimal shape create some very poor vision at night with glare, streaks, starbursts and halos. Seeing stars? Have your eyes checked to rule out issues but new lenses may be the solution. Studioeyecare.com Dr.j
