Eye Health and Seeing Fine Print

Dec 27 - 14 | A common patient for me is in their mid-forties, have not had an eye exam for several (5-20 years) 'because they have never needed glasses', has already cranked the font size up on their phone and is still struggling to read both it and print.  "My arms are too short!"  In next few blog entries I will review why this happens but this first - in office - I always embrace this opportunity to teach an important lesson... the health of your eyes and whether you need glasses are not generally related.   You can have very healthy eyes and need glasses or conversely not need glasses but have very unhealthy eyes.  A proper eye exam has two parts - check for vision and glasses + check for eye health... it is important you regularly have both checked by an Optometrist.  Every two years for adults and annually for those under 20 and over 65 is what we recommened at Vision Source London | Optometry & Studio Eye Wear.   See you soon   dr.j
