Skiing is an visual intense sport. Rapidly changing lighting conditions from blinding, bright white to dark, long shadows challenge the visual system to adapt quickly. Some goggle lenses are too dark in the shadows and grey conditions while others do not provide enough glare protection from intense white sun on new snow. I am an avid skier and have a collection of discarded ski goggles large enough to rival the selection in any sports store. Granted that I may be particular about this critical piece of gear... but i could never find the right goggle lens to balance ever changing light conditions without the hassle of exchanging lenses at -10C. Until now!
My new Rudy Project goggles are simply kick-ass. I have been so thrilled with the optics and performance that I have been recommending them to just about anyone willing to listen. If you are frustrated by not seeing hill/show contours fast enough and feel like you ease up in the shadows because of vision... check out the Rudy project KLONYX SNOW GOGGLE with ImpaxtX photochromatic lens. With self-adapting variable light transmission from 16% - 62% they are perfect for a huge range of conditions. Check them out here > http://www.rudyprojectusa.com/index_inner_detail.php?group_id=2&cat_id=14&item_id=MK128211 . Klonyx goggles also have a optional prescription lens adaptor - very smart!
