Feb 28 - 2015 | Why do some of us - myself included - get a headache watching a 3D movie? As discussed in the previous post, creating depth on a flat screen requires that two slightly offset images be presented to the visual system. The unique right eye and left eye images are integrated back to one image - with - depth - when all is aligned. However, what if a movie-goers eyes are not perfectly aligned?... headache! Many of us have a slight tendency for our eyes to not turn in perfectly or be sightly vertically offset. In day-to-day life, we usually fuse these images (which can cause eye fatigue) but behind the special 3D glasses that dissociate our visual system (right from left)... any existing misalignment is amplified. If you get a headache with a 3D movie... see us at Vision Source London or visit your local Optometrist. You likely have some underlying misalignment that could be made better for your day-today activities... including 3D movies! dr.j StudioEyeCare.com
