Feb 2 - 15 | A patient asked last week about a prescription eyedrop for "sexier eye lashes"... is there such a thing? I suppose 'sexier' is subjective but use of the prescription medication Latisse from Allergan does indeed lead to fuller, longer and thicker eyelashes in most people. The medication was originally approved to lower the pressure in the eye for folks with glaucoma but an interesting "adverse" reaction of lash growth has been repackaged and marketed as latisse. With Latisse, the only thing negative that I have seen was lid skin darkening which can be avoided with careful application. If you start Latisse, you should have your eye pressure checked. So yes - I have seen Latisse (and the original glaucoma med on which it is based) give longer, fuller lashes but remember from the previous post... a lash only lasts 3-4 months so you need to continue Latisse for continued effect. dr.j www.studioeyecare.com
