July 30 - 15 | In eye care, photophobia means increased light sensitivity. (It does not mean a true, Draconian “fear” light as usually denoted by a "phobia".) If you experience increased light sensitivity, it is definitely worth having an assessment. Eye infections, inflammations, cataracts, toxicity reactions, allergy, ultra-violet light damage, retinal/photo-receptor dystrophy and vascular issues (e.g. migraines) are just some of the things that can cause enhanced light sensitivity.
